Monday Madness!

Well because of all the snow days that we've had off, our 100th Day of School got pushed to the SAME day as Valentine's Day. Monday was one crazy day of celebration!! The kids really enjoyed making their 100 Fruit Loops necklace. I gave each kid a cup full of fruit loops and they had to walk around the room to sort the colors onto the correct plates. Then they put 10 of each color onto the necklace until they reached 100! We did all of our 100th Day activities in the morning and the Valentine's activities and party in the afternoon. Their favorite Valentine's activity was graphing the candy hearts (probably because they got to eat them afterwards!) It was an exhausting, but enjoyable day! But next time... I'd prefer to celebrate those days separately :)

Meet the Teacher

Jack and I have been together for (almost) 7 years and we just got married last summer! We went to the same middle school and high school, but never crossed paths until we were in college. Jack is a Paramedic and has recently got hired on the Grand Prairie Fire Department. I just graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I am now a Kindergarten Teacher in Dallas! We have 3 wonderful pets.. a sheltie named Max, a chihuahua named Ozzie, and a cat named Faith. We hope one day to expand our family with beautiful children!

Now for the Q&A:

Q: What would you be if you weren't a teacher?
A: There is one other job I was always curious about. When my little brother had to go through dialysis, he had a Child Specialist that would come visit him. She was basically a counselor for the children in the hospital. If teaching didn't work out, that would probably be my second choice.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I've recently found a love for reading! I get so excited when I get a new book! Other than that, I simply love spending time with my husband, friends, and family!

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I always wanted to be a teacher! But I also dreamed of being a singer because I love music... that ended quickly when I realized I couldn't sing!!

Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A: Sweet Tea, anything from Taco Cabana, and reality tv shows!!

Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: Losing the ones I love and this might sound silly, but spiders! I HATE SPIDERS!

Q: When you're on vacation, where do you like to go?
A: My favorite vacation spot has always been Florida.. ONLY because my family is there! When my husband and I want a quick getaway, our favorite spot to go is San Antonio!

Q: What's the best advice you've ever received?
A: Trust in God's plan for you. Sometimes I question things in my life and I can really stress myself out about it! But my husband always reminds me that God has something planned, I just need to be patient and trust in him!

Q: What do you value most in others?
A: Loyalty, definitely loyalty.

Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?
A: Dependability. Whether it be through being there for a friend in need or being on time to work, I always try to stick to my word!

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world...living or dead...who would it be?
A: Audrey Hepburn...she has always fascinated me through her acting, kind heart, and beauty!

Q: Now tell us one random thing about yourself:
A: Laughing is my favorite thing to do, but I have a silent laugh! Many people think I pretend to laugh or I give a "courtesy" laugh, but I promise I'm really laughing!! :)
